Face Lifting & Jawline Contouring

Restore structural harmony and reverse gravity without the need for invasive surgery. We utilize advanced PDO/PLLA thread lifts, structural dermal fillers, and energy-based devices to lift sagging skin and sculpt a razor-sharp, defined jawline.

Redefining Facial Architecture

As we age, the loss of bone density, fat pad volume, and skin elasticity causes the lower face to lose its crisp structural definition, leading to the formation of jowls and a blending of the chin into the neck. By precisely combining minimally invasive techniques, we can reposition descended tissues upwards and strategically rebuild lost volume along the mandible for a striking, youthful profile.

Thread Lifting (PDO/PLLA)

Medical-grade, dissolvable barbed threads are anchored into the subcutaneous layer to instantly pull and lift sagging jowls and cheeks, while stimulating long-term collagen webs as they dissolve.

Structural Fillers

Using high G-prime (firm) hyaluronic acid fillers or bio-stimulators (like Radiesse) placed deep onto the jawbone and chin to project, contour, and create a sharp separation between the face and neck.

Are You a Candidate?

Non-surgical facelifts and jawline contouring are highly effective for patients experiencing the early to moderate signs of structural aging, or younger patients seeking facial beautification and enhanced definition.

Ideal Candidates

  • Experiencing mild to moderate skin laxity and heavy jowls
  • Have a genetically "weak" or recessed chin (retrognathia)
  • Notice a loss of volume in the mid-face/cheeks causing the lower face to sag
  • Desire a highly contoured, sculpted lower face without invasive surgery
  • Have realistic expectations regarding non-surgical limits

Needs Evaluation

  • Severe, highly advanced skin laxity (often requires a surgical facelift)
  • Have an excess of submental fat (double chin) which may require fat-dissolving injections first
  • Active skin infections, severe acne, or autoimmune conditions
  • Patients on heavy blood thinners (significantly increases bruising risks)

Comparing Contouring Modalities

Often, the best outcomes are achieved by combining these treatments. However, understanding what each modality specifically addresses is crucial for formulating your bespoke treatment plan.

Feature Thread Lift (PDO/PLLA) Jawline & Chin Filler HIFU / RF Skin Tightening
Primary Action Physically pulls & suspends sagging tissue Adds volume, width, and structural projection Shrinks skin and melts superficial fat
Best Used For Lifting heavy jowls & fallen cheeks Weak chins & creating a sharp jaw angle Overall skin laxity & mild double chins
Result Timing Immediate mechanical lift; improves over time Immediate, instant contouring Gradual over 2 to 3 months
Downtime 3-5 days (swelling, puckering, tightness) 1-2 days (minor swelling or bruising) Zero to very mild redness

The Clinical Procedure

Performed in a sterile medical setting by our master injectors and aesthetic physicians.

1

Vector Mapping

We analyze your facial anatomy in an upright position. Precise vectors are drawn on the skin to map exactly where threads will be anchored or where structural filler will be deposited to achieve perfect symmetry.

2

Local Anesthesia

For thread lifts, we inject local anesthesia (Lidocaine) directly into the entry points and along the thread path. For fillers, a strong topical numbing cream is applied, ensuring absolute comfort.

3

Placement & Sculpting

Using blunt-tipped cannulas to bypass blood vessels safely, the threads are glided into the subcutaneous fat layer and pulled tight to engage the barbs. Fillers are carefully layered directly onto the periosteum (bone).

4

Molding & Securing

The threads are trimmed and the skin is smoothly draped over the new support structure. Filler is firmly massaged and molded by the physician to ensure sharp, seamless integration with your bone structure.

5

Review & Aftercare

You can immediately view the lifted and contoured results. Tape may be applied to support threads for the first 24 hours. We provide strict instructions on sleeping positions and facial movements.

Recovery Timeline

While non-surgical, these structural treatments require a short period of careful healing.

Day 1–3
Swelling and tenderness along the jawline are expected. If threads were used, you will feel significant tightness when opening your mouth. Minor skin puckering at the entry sites is completely normal.
Week 1–2
Swelling drastically reduces. Any bruising can be easily concealed. The jawline filler begins to integrate with your tissue, feeling less firm and more natural. Thread puckering resolves.
Month 1–2
Filler is fully settled. For thread lifts, the mechanical lift is stable, and the body has begun rapidly producing a thick band of collagen around the threads for long-term support.
Month 6+
PDO threads dissolve entirely, but the collagen scaffolding remains, preserving the lifted appearance. Fillers maintain their crisp contour for 12 to 18 months depending on product density.

Honest About Risks, Serious About Safety

Altering facial architecture requires a profound understanding of deep facial anatomy to prevent complications.

  • Asymmetry: Initial swelling can often make the face look uneven. True asymmetry is rare but can be corrected with minor touch-ups at the two-week follow-up.
  • Thread Extrusion or Snapping: If excessive facial expressions or aggressive chewing occur too soon, a thread can slip or snap. We provide strict guidelines to restrict jaw movement for the first week.
  • Vascular Occlusion (Fillers): A rare emergency where filler enters a blood vessel. We utilize blunt cannulas to drastically reduce this risk and keep Hylenex (dissolver) on hand to immediately reverse any vascular events.
  • Infection: Entry points for threads and cannulas are vulnerable for 24 hours. Strict sterility during the procedure and avoiding makeup/touching post-treatment is mandatory.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is a thread lift painful?

We use robust local anesthesia to numb the entry points and the thread pathways entirely. You will feel a strange pulling or tugging sensation during the procedure, but it should not be acutely painful. Post-procedure tightness and tenderness are managed with over-the-counter painkillers.

Will jawline filler make my face look bulky or masculine?

No, unless that is the specific goal. For women, we use specialized techniques to contour the jaw angle and elongate the chin to create a slimmer, V-shaped profile. For men, we inject differently to broaden the mandible and create a wider, squared-off, masculine jawline.

How long do the results actually last?

Thread lifts typically provide visible lifting for 1 to 2 years, depending on your age and collagen response. Jawline and chin fillers utilize the thickest, most durable hyaluronic acid gels available (like Volux or Restylane Defyne), which routinely last 12 to 18 months before needing a top-up.

Can this fix a heavy double chin?

Fillers and threads alone cannot remove heavy fat. If you have a true double chin (submental fat), we highly recommend undergoing fat-dissolving injections (like Kybella/Aqualyx) or HIFU energy treatments first to remove the weight, followed by contouring.

Are these procedures reversible?

Hyaluronic acid dermal fillers are 100% reversible and can be safely dissolved within 24 hours using an enzyme. Thread lifts, however, cannot be practically removed once the barbs have engaged the tissue; they must be allowed to dissolve naturally over several months.

How should I sleep after the procedure?

It is critical that you sleep strictly on your back, slightly elevated with extra pillows, for at least 7 to 10 days. Sleeping on your side can compress the freshly placed filler or cause the lifting threads to shift or release prematurely.
